Backroom is a Shopify app that helps merchants create purchase orders, receive deliveries and count stock. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is handled.
Suppliers, purchase orders, receipts and stock takes that you create in the app are stored so you can return to them.
We also keep a record of how the app's features are used by your store — for example that a purchase order was created or a report was opened, and when. These usage records contain no customer information and no product or price details; they help us improve the app, notice when something has stopped working for a store, and send the optional emails you can turn off in Settings: the weekly low-stock email, delivery reminders, and a few one-off messages about getting started, your trial and — once — after you uninstall. They are deleted after 400 days and when the app is uninstalled.
Data is used solely to provide the app's features to the store that installed it. We do not sell data, share it with third parties for marketing, or use it to train models.
Data is stored on encrypted infrastructure and transmitted over HTTPS. Access tokens are stored server-side and never exposed to the browser.
When the app is uninstalled, the store's access token is revoked immediately. All store data is deleted within 48 hours of receiving Shopify's shop/redact request, and on request at any time. Customer data requests and redaction requests are honoured, though the app stores no customer data.
